A spectrum of disorders, including hallucinations and delusions, that all involve a loss of contact with reality are collectively referred to as schizophrenia. It also has an impact on a person's capacity to identify the signs and symptoms of this condition. Even though it's a severe condition, it can be treated, and many people who have it still lead happy, fulfilling lives. The term "schizophrenia" is used to describe a variety of psychotic disorders as well as a single illness. These are situations where a person feels "disconnected" from reality in some way. These disconnections can occur in a variety of ways. Although the words "split" and "mind" are derived from the Greek for "split" and "mind," none of the illnesses classified as schizophrenia involve multiple personalities. Instead, the disorder known as dissociative identity disorder covers multiple personalities (which was previously known as multiple personality disorder). Dissociative disorders are a subset of that condition.
